Living in Scarborough

We are a family of four living in Scarborough, we have two boys aged 3 and 5 and we will log everything that we do as a family for you to get a good idea of what it’s like living in Scarborough.

Living in Scarborough for the Beach

As a young family living in Scarborough we spend a lot of time with the kids at the beach. Scarborough has two great beaches that are good for very different reasons and offer a very different day out and are two good reasons to love living in Scarborough.

We have a page dedicated to Scarborough beach that has a load of pictures of both beaches and is packed full of information on how to find them and where to park.

Scarborough North Bay Beach

The photo above shows a shot of Scarborough’ North Bay beach; this is why we love living in Scarborough. We often go for walks around the promenade for the lovely views of Scarborough Castle and for the kids to have a run and a play on the beach.

Scarborough South Bay Beach

Above is a shot of Scarborough’ south bay beach; this is the side of Scarborough you have to be prepared to spend a little money in the arcades. The beaches are a great reason to love living in Scarborough, you can have a quiet day at the beach on one side and a fun filled action day the beach on the other.

Living in Scarborough for the Walks

It’s great living in Scarborough if you enjoy going for picturesque walks, we will be documenting these on our blog for you to have a look at.

The walks that we love and our kids enjoy too are around Peasholm Park and near the North Bay beach. If you are living in Scarborough you will enjoy walking around Peasholm Park and the glen over and over, the kids and dogs will love it.

Peasholm Park

Above is a photo of the entrance to Peasholm Park, it is lovely to walk around in the summer or winter months to feed the ducks and have an ice cream or coffee sat the lake. If you are living in Scarborough you will never get bored of this view.

Peasholm Park Glen

Living in Scarborough with two young kids we often go for walks around the Peasholm Park glen pictured above. It’s a great cheap way to spend the afternoon and it’s a good place for the kids to work off some energy having a ride round the paths on their scooter or bike.

Living in Scarborough we spend a lot of time walking, if it’s not at Peasholm Park we will be having a walk the sea around the Marine Drive the road that links both Scarborough beaches.     Thinking of moving to Scarborough next year me and my hubare in our early 50 s and I will need a job, and we have a dog so need a dog friendly flat,not sure if doing the right thing ? But love our holidays in Scarborough
