Bridlington Beach

Like Scarborough there are two beaches in Bridlington that you can visit. You have the north side Bridlington beach that has the amusement park and arcades. Then there’s the south side Bridlington beach that has the bars and Bridlington Spa.

You will need to set aside a full day of your holiday if you plan to visit Bridlington beach. There is so much to do there and the kids will love it. The harbour splits up Bridlington beach into the north and south side.

There are many cafes and little food kiosks along the north and south side of Bridlington beach that you can sit outside and enjoy the view. Bridlington beach is only a 30 min drive from Scarborough.

Bridlington Beach North Side

Bridlington Beach North Side View 1

The photo above shows the view you get as you walk down towards the north side Bridlington beach from the harbour. On the left you will see the amusement park that runs across the top of Bridlington beach. On the right you can see the north side Bridlington beach.

The first ride at the Bridlington beach amusement park is the one that our kids love the most; you can see it in the foreground of this photo. We think the ride tokens are a bit expensive but the smiles on our kid’s faces make it worth it.

Adventureland at Bridlington beach

As you walk further down Bridlington beach amusement park towards the steps down to the beach you will see the indoor play area that is shown in the photo above. There is always something to do at Bridlington beach even if it starts to rain.

Bridlington beach north side view 2

If you walk to the end of the amusement park you will find the steps that lead down to the north side Bridlington beach. Our eldest son loves to go in the sea and jump the waves at Bridlington beach, after we get him out of the amusement park that is.

Cafe at Bridlington beach

As you can see in the photo above it’s not too expensive to eat at the cafes based at the north side of Bridlington beach. We think that 90p for a coffee is very reasonable, you can even get an ice cream for 50p. The cafe in the photo above looks out onto the north side Bridlington beach and is just to the side of the Bridlington leisure world.

Leisure World at Bridlington beach north side

The photo above shows the entrance to Bridlington leisure world, this is based right next to the north side Bridlington beach. Our eldest son is five and he loves this swimming pool because he is tall enough to go down the slides on his own. He can’t swim but you just stand at the bottom of the slide and catch him when he comes out.

If you do visit the north side Bridlington beach this swimming pool is worth a visit, your kids will love it no matter how old they are.

Bridlington Forum at Bridlington beach

Just next to Bridlington leisure world you will find the Bridlington Forum that is also right next to the north side Bridlington beach. The forum has a cinema, a bar and a bowling alley. You can’t fail to entertain your kids at the north side Bridlington beach.

Bridlington Beach South Side

Bridlington beach harbour

The photo above shows Bridlington harbour that splits up the north side Bridlington beach from the south side Bridlington beach. There are loads of fish and chip shops in this area and many benches to eat them on. Eat your chips while looking at this view that leads onto the south side Bridlington beach.

Bridlington beach south side

Just to the right of the harbour you will see this view of the south side Bridlington beach. The south side Bridlington beach is huge and if you have any time left in the day to visit it after visiting the north side Bridlington beach then you should do. We always end up going to the north side Bridlington beach first as our kids love the amusement park.

The south side Bridlington beach has the Spa and a large selection of bars and cafes that look out onto the beach. One of my favourite cafes is just to the right of this shot, it looks out onto the harbour and across the south side Bridlington beach.

Bridlington beach car park

When we visit Bridlington beach we always park at the car park that is shown in the photo above. This car cark is very close to Bridlington beach and the town centre, there is always a parking space available.

Moorfield Road car park Bridlington

The car park we use for Bridlington beach is called the Moorfield Road long stay car park. It is only a five-minute walk from this car park to Bridlington beach. It’s not too far for our five year old to walk and they have free to use toilets, which is always a bonus when you have kids.

Bridlington car parking charges

The car parking charges are very reasonable, for the Moorfield Road car park you only have to pay £3.50 for a full day and it is very close to Bridlington beach and the town centre. The Bridlington prices are a lot better than the Scarborough car parking prices and extra time is given for overpayment unlike the machines in Scarborough.

If you are on holiday in Scarborough then a trip to Bridlington beach has to be on your itinerary, there is so much to do and your kids will love it. Bridlington beach has too much to do in just one day so you may want to stay over if you want to sample everything Bridlington beach has to offer.
