A Grand Day Out in Scarborough

Have a look at my photos below showing a snap shot of what Scarborough has to offer.

You could start your day out in Scarborough with a walk along the south bay beach and then round the Marine Drive towards the north bay beach.

You could spend the afternoon in the nearby towns of Filey or Whitby or even do both if you have time. If you have kids then spend the afternoon at the Little Hoppers soft play area in Eastfield, they will love it there and you can grab a coffee and a sit down while the kids play.

Photos of my day out in Scarborough

Scarborough South Bay Beach

Above is an early morning shot of the south bay beach that was taken at about 8am on the 27/12/12. As you can see it was a lovely morning for a stroll on the beach to walk the dog.

Scarborough South Bay Beach

Above shows the south bay beach on a cold December morning just as the town is starting to wake up. To the right of the photo you can see the arcades that run along Foreshore Road.

Above is another shot of the south bay beach in Scarborough, this shot is looking south towards Filey and was taken from the car park of the Scarborough Spa complex. You can view our video of the south bay beach on the Scarborough video tour page.

Scarborough Sports Centre

This is a photo of the Scarborough Sports Centre that is located on Filey Road. If you fancy spending your afternoon in the gym or having a game of squash or table tennis then this is the place to be.

Filey Beach

The photo above shows an early morning shot of the chalets you can hire at Filey Beach. Why not spend some of your day in filey, have a walk along the beach and round the small town centre.

Filey Beach

This is another photo of Filey beach looking north towards Cayton Bay and Scarborough. With Filey only being a short drive from Scarborough it's definitely worth a look.

Filey Brigg Caravan Site

This is a photo of the Filey Brigg Caravan Site that is located close to Filey beach. If you go up to the caravan park you get a great view of the beach from the cliff top.

Whitby Harbour

This is an early morning shot of Whitby harbour taken from the Church Street car park that is a short walk away from the town centre.

Whitby Harbour

If you are on holiday in Scarborough you should definitely put some time aside for a trip to Whitby. This photo was taken in December and looks stunning in the summer months.

Whitby Beach

This photo of Whitby beach was taken from the Spa Top car park in Whitby based on the West Cliff. Just to the right of this shot are some steps that lead down to the Whitby Pavilion. Head down to the cafe at the Pavilion for a rest and a coffee while you take in this view.

Little Hoppers Soft Play Area

If you are in Scarborough and you have kids then you should spend an hour or two at the Little Hoppers Soft Play area that is shown in the pic above. If you would like to see a video of Little Hoppers go to our Scarborough video tour page.
